As of May 2022, I am now assisting the FoRRGS team as President [again], but only until a new person steps up into this exciting role. I have been a long-term volunteer of this exceptional, dedicated group. As a Master Gardener, this special oasis appeals to my horticultural interests; however it offers so much more. Whether you are a historical aficionado, a nature enthusiast, a photography buff or simply searching for quiet repose, Reader Rock Garden is a destination-of-choice. I'm proud to be part of this National Historic Site!

Cool mornings and long shadows from the sun’s angle are reminding us that summer is fading. The season of mellow fruitfulness is upon us with rich hues cloaking the Garden. Another beautiful time begins … enjoy!

Green Flag Award Achieved!

Reader Rock Garden shares this prestigious honor with Confederation Park as being the 1st in Canada and the 23rd country to receive this honorable distinction! So many people had a part in this accomplishment: of course Calgary Parks staff, our dedicated team of volunteers, our gardening affiliates & corporate sponsors. Way to go team !!! There are far too many names to include here, but Daniel Walker and Ben Suehsschlaf [former & current Head Gardeners] definitely need to take a bow!! Annual Plant Sale – Completed

It’s almost here … our Plant Sale, is on Sunday, June 8th, 12:00-2:00 PM.

Please make sure your membership is up-to-date or, you’ll be able to purchase a membership onsite event date. This “members-only” sale offers our supporters unique plants from the Garden. Many of these treasures have been tenderly cared for in the greenhouses over winter.

Bring a little history back to your own home oasis and support Reader Rock Garden too.
