Green Flag Award Achieved!

Reader Rock Garden shares this prestigious honor with Confederation Park as being the 1st in Canada and the 23rd country to receive this honorable distinction! So many people had a part in this accomplishment: of course Calgary Parks staff, our dedicated team of volunteers, our gardening affiliates & corporate sponsors. Way to go team !!! There are far too many names to include here, but Daniel Walker and Ben Suehsschlaf [former & current Head Gardeners] definitely need to take a bow!! Mr. Reader would indeed be thrilled with this fantastic legacy. 🥇 💚🥰 More details here.

Fall Is Here

The “Season of Mists & Mellow Fruitfulness” has arrived. Time to wrap-up some outdoor activities and Reader’s Garden Cafe is closing for the season; last weekend is Sunday, Sept 29th. But the Garden will remain cloaked in fine colors for a long time to come. Enjoy!

Heavenly Perfume!

Gosh! The exquisite sweet, citrusy fragrance along the Switch Back road at Reader’s will blow your socks off!! The Mock Orange shrubs, aka Philadelphus coronarius, are in bloom and create a feast for the senses, truly heavenly !!
